Task 2: Planning
your animation sequence
D2 present an imaginative idea for an animation
sequence
a) Write
down two potential ideas for your animation sequence, include as much detail as
possible for characters, background, what will happen in your sequence, the
technique you will use, the length of time for your animation.
Create a PowerPoint: Each slide should include the following
1. Synopsis - what will happen in your animation? what is the story?
2. Characters - build a profile, name, age, details
3. The technique you will use and why? backgrounds and locations you will use?
4. Target audience - Age, gender, demographics, likes, why they would like it?
b) You need
to gain feedback from your target audience on both of your initial ideas for
your animation sequence; you will need one person to complete the peer
assessment part of your initial ideas sheet.
c) Based on
your feedback create a pitch for your animation sequence, this pitch will be
delivered to your perspective client, so you will need to be professional and
accurate with your ideas.
1. Pitch your idea and gain feedback
d) Create a
document from the feedback of your pitch that details your final idea for your
animation sequence. You will need to explain all the details of your animation;
who your audience is for your animation and how you will target them.
1. Apply any improvements to your final pitch from your feedback.
e) You now
need to storyboard your animation sequence, including sound, dialogue, camera
shots and any movement you plan to put in. You must include your titles and
credits in your storyboard too.
If you are having a voiceover: Write a script (using professional software) or find
and mark out the lyrics you have chosen to use for your animation sequence
(where possible mark out and write what you intend your animation sequence to
look like).
